Chapter 7: … the Little Princess!

Meet Melia Rossini, firstborn daughter of Adrian and Eira and (due to succesion laws of this legacy) a very likely candidate for a heiress.
Meaning of the name Melia (pronounced me-lee-ah) is “ash tree”. (Name Cinderella comes from italian word for ash, but I couldn’t find a name with that meaning so ash tree will do) Oh, and Melia is also the name of one of the honey-nymphs who were nurses of infant Zeus.
Okay, I guess that’s enough commentary on meaning and origin of the name 😀
Let’s go back to the story.

As expected, everyone was in love with this little girl. She was a lovely little lady. Eira couldn’t stop cuddling her and I did understand. Melia was cute and very calm baby, she hardly cried (only when her diapers were dirty).

Castor liked his new sister as well. He was being such a sweet kid, he was always the first one to shoosh her when she cried and he even had a happy moodlet from having a sibling!  How cute! I’ve never seen that happy moodlet before, I only saw the angry and the sad one.

Beside entertaining his sister, Castor also played a lot of video games and looked for some collectives and drew pictures… he was a busy kid, indeed. He was also keen to play the piano, but the rest of the family (and me) was not really happy about his attempts.

‘I better play violin really loud so no one would notice how untalented my little boy is.’

Eira may not be pleased with Castor’s music, but then again she is apparently untalented in the kitchen. After days of surviving on yoghurt, she felt like her family deserves something better and she decided to cook an actual meal. Since they don’t own a stove, garden salad was the only option, so she gave it a try. And it turned out to be… not the most delicious garden salad in the world:

“Eww, this makes me vomit more than a morning sickness.”

How hard one has to try to fail to cook a garden salad? I mean, you only need to chop vegetables to make it… Well, it’s back to yoghurt, I guess. Thank Watcher that no one in this family is lactose intolerant.

But time was passing by very quickly and three days of Melia’s babyhood were soon over. So she jumped out of that restricting bassinet, ready to conquer the world with her elegance and fine manners.

“Look at my dress, my dress is amazing…”

She took after her father, I guess. She has Adrian’s eye color for sure and his skin tone, too. And partially his personality because I gave her the Neat trait as expected (representant of Cinderella has to be neat and foodie according to rules.) She rolled the Artistic Prodigy aspiration just like her brother.
First thing to do: say hello to Blarffy.

“Listen to me, Blarffy. I was a little baby yesterday and today I can walk and talk and draw and clean… How cool is that?”

They had a nice talk about perks of being a Sim. Melia felt like they were friends for ages and Blarffy was such a good listener.
Then, Melia decided to draw something. She wanted to show everyone that she is just as talented as her awesome mom, Eira.

Creative Corner

“Look, I’m drawing a picture of our –>house<–!”

Oh, the irony!
After finishing her masterpiece, she finally got to meet her brother Castor.

C: “Oh, I see you’re getting accustomed to family traditions well, Melia.”                            M: “Yeah, I’m so ready for my first yoghurt!”

As the evening approached, Melia needed a place to sleep, so it was time for another house makeover! Let’s see what out limited budget allowed us to do.

It looks like an actual house from the front. Yay!

But it’s still very provisional.

But at least they have a roof over their heads (and yoghurt in their stomachs). And kids love the idea of sleeping inside.

“Our new house is so pretty! Like a dollhouse.”

Next day, it was Melia’s first day in school. She was a little worried, but Castor was there to calm her down.

“Don’t worry, sis, you’ll be alright. But make sure you won’t trip over something, get pantsed or pee yourself. Because, you know, everyone is gonna remember what happened on the first day.”

That is a very wise advice, Castor. Really encouraging. (Look at his malicious joy ! )

‘I should have stayed in the bassinet.’

But she came home with a smile, so everything went well, I guess. Although it was probably a little boring because Melia’s fun meter was turning yellow. So she took up some fun activities…

What can be more fun than mopping the grass….

Castor wanted to do his homework as soon as possible so that he could play blickblock for the rest of the day. But it was taking so long he started to do his “I’m-going-through-so-much-pain” face.

*sigh* Homework sucks.

Eira loved her kids and she loved to see them grow up. She loved how lively and independent they became. And she loved to spend time with them and to hear about their little accomplishmets (although they were sometimes… weird.)

M: “Mom, I found an one-eyed monster under my bed yesterday!”     E: “Eh, you sure did, honey.”

But she missed the days when they were cute little babies, with tiny toes and chubby cheeks. She really wanted to have another baby. Adrian was okay with that.
But much to everyone’s surprise, Eira failed to concieve. She was devastated by those news. She felt like her body betrayed her. She always thought she was meant to be a mother. A mother of many. Having a big family was all she ever wanted. Without it, her life seemed… pointless.

What am I supposed to do with my life?

Poor girl.
